So I spent hours finding new recipes that my family would like. Most of them came from http://www.mykichencafe.blogspot.com/ , http://www.dinnersonme.blogspot.com/ , http://www.lovehugsandgiggles.com/ and http://yummygoodnessrecipes.blogspot.ccom/ (which is a family recipe blog that I add too)
I created a calendar for October and November with all the meals and days. I then made a 3-ring binder and put all the recipes in order and in plastic sleeves to keep them clean while cooking. Now all I have to do is go through my recipes and make shopping lists on a weekly basis.
I hope my idea works!!!! We shall see. I just hope we don't gain weight from cooking more often...I tend to eat more because the food tastes better!
This might sound kind of crazy... but this is seriously one of my favorite things to do. Find recipes, organize them, and then plan out the week. The only thing I hate is grocery shopping, unless I'm by myself! I love your idea, I'm trying it out!
ReplyDeleteWow. That looks like you put a lot of time into it. I hope it works.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good idea. I hope it works for you. I go through phases, where I cook every night for a couple of weeks, then I never cook. Ugh...It's much easier if you plan ahead though! Good Luck!
ReplyDeleteGood Job Marinda! proud of ya! My only advise is not to get burnt out on cooking. Make sure you have some easy dinners on there! Whats for dinner tomorrow? (Sunday) hehehe
ReplyDeleteThat is brilliant, and so cute too! I want to do it even though I usually don't cook for very many. By the way, you guys look so great in all of your pictures. I love your hair!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good idea, I think I should do something like that to get me motivated to be a better chef! :)
