Painting Fun!

So I must confess something...I don't like doing messy crafts with the kids...painting, playdough, glitter, etc... I don't like the cleanup... so frankly we never do them.
.
On Tuesday I was talking to my sister-in-law, Dakota and she gave me a great idea to encourage the kids to do chores and to listen. Part of the fun is to decorate a box first....So I finally gave in and we painted. Brooklyn and Easton loved it. I felt bad that I don't do things like that more often. Easton even said at the end..."I am officially a painter." Brooklyn said when she grows up she "wants to be a teacher and a painter..two things!" They had a great time...and only one mishap...spilled paint on the driveway (on the way to the garbabge can..so close to being done without a mishap). We cleaned it up before Daddy could see!
Easton liked to mix all the colors and make a beautiful brown!
Brooklyn is a little more advanced from painting in school.
She tried to keep her colors separate until the end.
And then there was mine..yes I even painted with them. I know it is amazing. I am turning a new leaf. I made mine simple. Brooklyn loved the rainbow colors.
Brooklyn before we started. She was so excited.Easton before...but do you notice he already spilled the water on his plate.
He is our little spiller..he spills every night at the table...we just except it now.
OUR FINISHED PRODUCT!
Eastons is totally brown.
Mine is colorful and I know now that I am not talented at painted flowers.
Brooklyn's is colorful and cute!

We had a great time painting...

next time we might just adventure over to Playdough...Do I dare???

  1. Yes for play dough, no for moon sand. That stuff gets everywhere and when you think you got it, it still shows up, some mom's here swear by it but I personally think it is worst than paint! hehe!
