Brooklyn's makes me laugh!

Brooklyn gave me a good laugh today! She was helping me get ready (it is amazing what you can't do without a thumb. It just gets in the way and hurts. And I can't get it wet...Gotta love the plastic bag trick) So Brooklyn was brushing my hair and I told her "You are being the mom today." Since I am usually the one who brushed her hair. Brooklyn's response was..."So I get to do whatever I want to today." It made me laught...what a smartie pants. She wishes!!!!

She is being a good helper...now we off to walk Sway and Maeby (the Ferrells dog).

Have a nice day!

My ER Visit!

I am so mad...yesterday I was trying to earn money for my Utah Trip next month. So I was cleaning at Erics work. I was vacuuming under a stainless steal table and pulled out the vacuum and hit my thumb on the raw steal. Well Stainless Steal cuts fast, deep, clean. I sliced the top side of my thumb. I went to the bathroom to rinse it and it kept bleeding. I was thinking it would be ok without stitches. Well...until I lifted up the skin and we could see the thumb tendin move. So I cut it too deep. It was so gross...I started to feel sick. I don't like exposed body parts..yuck! It even made Eric yelp.

So of course it happens after hours...just my luck. We called around to find a clinic but had no luck. So we headed to the ER. We only were in the ER for 2 hrs total. Not too bad. I got a tentis shot...Which hurts really bad today. feels like someone punched my arm really hard. Then I got 3 big stitches on my thumb. The doctor checked my tendin...I think I barely missed it. I am glad I can move my thumb ok. I watched some of the stitch process...it was just yucky for me. Now I have a thumb wrap and it has a constant little pain. Not too bad but it does hurt.

I can't wait to get my $700-1000 bill for this one. I am so mad. I hate to waste money. Now I will not have a lot of play money in Utah. Not happy!

Here is my picture...My computer is finally back! Update (July 5th) it is healing great! The scare isn't too bad. Still a little sore if I hit my thumb on something.

Today was the official last day of school for Brooklyn! I am so excited! She is too! She finished with great grades. She has learned so much. I loved her teacher, Mrs. Bazzano. She was the best teacher for Brooklyn. Very strict... but very fun! She taught those kids soooo much! More than I ever learned in Kindergarten-2nd grade. Brooklyn is excited to be a 1st grader. And to play on the big playground all the time and eat lunch in the cafeteria.

Eric is a proud owner of a Biffy!

Happy Birthday to Eric! Eric decided to buy his own gift this year! He has always wanted a "bidet" so he found this option online. Eric is now a proud owner of a "Biffy Personal Rinse." It still makes me laugh to think about it. I am not sure I will use it..but he loves it! It is a little too cold & wet for me. But he loves it. So Happy Birthday To You!!! I am still surprised he bought it! Here is the website if you want to see how it works...http://www.biffy.com/. It was only $100. Not too bad. It sure made Eric happy... so it is worth it!

Pinkalicious!!!

Brooklyn and Easton turned me into "Pinkalicious" (A very cute girly childs book) while I was sitting out on my back porch reading "New Moon" yesturday. Didn't the kids do such a nice job? And then I got to do Brooklyn's face! She wanted to be Pinkalicious too! Easton didn't want any on his face.
At least it matches my shirt!

My little makeup artists!

Before shot

Momming doing payback!

Aren't we so cute!!!!
Note: I washed my face twice last night and you can still see a pink tint on my face. Looks like a bad self-tanning job! I hope no one notices... Kids makeup is more like paint! But the kids had sooo much fun doing it...so it was worth it!

Playset update

Brooklyn said we had to post a picture of the playset for Grandma. So here it is. Phase 2 is done. The hardest part... I might add. All is left is building the boarder around the perimeter and then adding 5 yards of playground chips. Almost done..Yeah!!! The kids love it. They love eating up in their "tree house" (Sway proof..she can't steal their food). Thanks Daddy for spending so much time building it for the kids!

My crazy weekend!

My Saturday was full of excitement!
I started off by going to a yard sale and it was a good one. I just wish I had been there 1/2 hour before because I saw lots of "saved" stuff that I really wanted and it was really cheap! But I did get a few good things.

Then I went to our youth waterski trip. It wasn't too hot but the kids were ok. It was sunny but only around 70 and breezy! You would never get me in that water unless it is over 90. Everything was going well until someone said a boat SANK. I couldn't believe it and I had to see for myself. So I walked o the ramp and sure enough the NICEST MOST EXPENSIVE NEWEST WAKEBOARD BOAT WAS GONE! It was 100% under water. All the seats floated up but no boat in site. I couldn't believe it.

This is what happened...First of all they had a few extra bodies on board because the driver didn't count his small children on board. He had 3 on a tube and they stopped the boat. A few teenagers were standing at the back of the boat on one side and no one was on the other side. And a wave came in on that side where the weight was and took the boat down instantly. Everyone jumped off and swam to shore. It was gone! Just like that. Luckily they were only 50 feet from shore and everyone had a life jacket on except the driver and one girl 18yr old that could swim fine.

So now the fun begins of...How do we get it off the bottom of the lake? I felt so bad for the owner. He was a young guy and he was so frustrating. (The boat was basically brand new and worth over $50,000. Crazy.) So they drove down and hooked a ski rope to the boat and another boat pulled it toward the ramp as far as he could. Then they pulled it forward with a truck until it reached the trailer which they had put in the water pretty deep. Once they hooked up the crank to it from the trailer they were able to bring it forward and some of the boat was sticking out at this point. But it wouldn't stay on the trailer because it was floating and still under water. So they then pulled it out of the water a little bit until they could start bailing the water out of it. At this point it was easy and they were relieved. It took 2 hours to do this process. A few awesome strangers were the main help and they were great!!! They couldn't have done it without them and their big truck. We then left the activity! The excitement was done!

Then I came home. A couple hours later...I heard a helicopter circling my house multiple times and sirens from firetrucks. I went outside and noticed that across the street and 5 lots down there was a fire on the levy. They put it out immediately and I was relieved. It was a breezy day so that made me a little nervous. In Utah I would say that is no big deal...but here in Cali...that little of a fire can destroy every home in sight. Luckily our community makes everyone cut their weeds down to the dirt and they just did that on the levy this week. It was a good thing! We get dry weeds that are about 2-3 feet tall that just burn like fuel. So that was exciting!

We then finished the night at the Lakeport Speedway. It was alot of fun. A little boring at first while they did the first races but then by the end they were doing the final races and they were better. And then they had the demolition derby with trucks. It was fun. It just didn't last long enough. But it was still fun to watch. The kids didn't do too well. They were bored and wanted to go home. Next time they will stay home. I thought they would like it...since they love "cars" but oh well. I think the kids did better when they were younger at the speedway. It was still a fun night. We went with our friends, Steve and Erin. So we had good company!

So we got home late and this morning I woke up at 9:20 oops. Church started at 9am. So we played hookie today and took it easy. Next...Reading & Nap time!

What a weekend!!!! At least I will remember this one. I took pictures with my cell phone of the boat...I am not sure if I can get them off though. I will try and post them if I can.
