Brooklyn's Dance Recital!
Brooklyn had her dance recital last Saturday. It was cute. She had to perform two shows...she didn't like the waiting time (in the boys stinky locker room). But she liked to perform.

School Project!
Brooklyn came home with an assignment to decorate a snowman. She wanted to do it with Candy and Marshmellows. It was kindof tricky to get them to stay...but hot glue worked ok. It took a couple of hours...but she liked it. (except for getting the glue on her fingers..ouch) It looked good enough to eat...yummy!
Do you like the hands? They are party blowers...gotta use what you have in the house..right?

Kids Quotes of the day!
Easton...
"I don't like underwear...it sticks to my butt."
(He never wears it...we put it on him and once he goes to the bathroom..it's off!)
Brooklyn...
"You treat your kids like grown-ups."
(Because I told her that she needed to clean her room...poor girl. I guess I should add the Laundry to her chore chart...and maybe the kitchen...then she would be treated like a grown-up!)
Claire...(Easton's 3 1/2 yr old friend that I watch a couple times a week)
Easton likes to put pepper on his food, I don't know why. So Easton and Claire were eating Raman Noodles and Easton put pepper on his. (Just a little bit) The noodles were still hot from the stove so they were waiting for them to cool down. Then Easton says... "They are hot."
Claire replies "It's hot because you put pepper on them." It was so funny!
The things kids say...they make me laugh!

Our fun weekend!
Last weekend we had some fun with our friend, Jimmy and his family. We went shooting on Friday. It was fun. I like to shoot the 22. I think that is what it is called. It doesn't have a kick and I like that. The kids had to stay in the car until the end. Then Brooklyn and Easton got to shoot the new BB gun that daddy bought. Brooklyn loved it. Easton did a few times and went back to the van. But Brooklyn liked it. It was fun. Cold but fun!
Christmas 2008!
Christmas was really nice this year. We spent Christmas Eve at our friends, The Allred's. We had dinner, Chili, read about the Birth of the Savior, and then played the Wii. It was fun. Then we came home and Eric and I had to wrap the presents because Easton opened the ones I had wrapped early.
Christmas morning was nice. We woke up at 8am (I know those days will soon be done) and soon after Brooklyn ran in so excited. She told us that Santa had eaten the cookies and left presents. So we got up, dressed and started the "adventure." First there was a letter on the tree from Santa. Brooklyn read it (with a little help). Santa told them to go downstairs for their gift. He said because it was raining he couldn't set up the gift. So Brooklyn and Easton ran downstairs and saw what Santa had left---A trampoline! Yeah. They were screaming and jumping up and down. They were excited.
Then we came up and they opened 2 presents each (Grandmommy and Papa's gifts) and then told them to look in the tree for a piece of paper "Clue". The paper told them to go to a different part of the house for their next gift. And so on and so on. They went to ten different spots in the house. They had a blast. We ended back at the Christmas tree to open Grandma Jo & Grandpa Rod's big gift for them-a gymnastics mat and mesh tubes they could plan in.
I really liked this idea of the scavenger hunt. One of my girls told me about it. We opted for a little Christmas this year...so this was a great way to extend the fun. It really was fun! The kids spent the rest of the day playing with their toys.
My tradition I like...taking down all the decorations on Christmas day! Have the fun and then get it all cleaned up! I like that!
For Christmas dinner... we didn't have Ham. Imagine that! We had Steak, Potatoes, Corn, & Salad. Yummy and Simple!
Our Christmas was fun, easy, & relaxing...I hope yours was too!
