I received a BEAUTIFUL BLOGGER AWARD! How sweet is that! I am not sure how "beautiful" my blog is..except for my children! I love writing my blog...it's my little journal of memories and photos that I can share with family and friends from afar. I love reading other blogs and recently found my friend's, Jessica's. Who nominated me for this award. We haven't known each other very long- 9 month to be exact. I love her little family...Jessica is so sweet and always has a smile on her face. I felt like instant friends when we met. Her and her husband opened a frozen yogurt shop in Santa Rosa (which is so yummy and now we have a tradition of visiting every time we shop in Santa Rosa...sometimes even two times a day) We really enjoy having her family over on Sunday nights for dinner. We enjoy their company. She has two adorable kids...Riley is just TOO adorable...she is little woman at her ripe age of 1! I love her long hair! Easton and Russell are just like each other and love to play. So THANK YOU Jessica for nominated me for this award...you are too kind!
Now the hard part...SEVEN interesting things about me...
1. My NAME- "Marinda Ann (Coombs) Redford" My name is no Sarah, Mary or Julie....it's different and I have never met another Marinda in person. People have told me that they have had relatives with that name but no one face to face. My name is from my Great Great Grandmother and my Great, Great, Great Grandmother...I think that is right if not add another Great. When my mom was dating my dad she told him that her first daughter had to be "Marinda Ann" and my dad was happy to accept that condition. So after 3 boys...I finally was born and received the name that I LOVE! (Even though people call me "Miranda" all the time...that is ok..I still answer and don't correct)
2. I hate seafood...I always have since I was little and the sad thing about it...I have never really tried it. I just made that decision when I was younger and never changed my mind. Eric talked me into trying shrimp once and I didn't like it. Tuna is the only seafood in my diet...and I know seafood is healthy..that is the hard part. When I was younger I heard the phrase that stuck with me and it was my excuse until I realized how stupid it was..."I don't eat anything that swims in it's own poop."
3. Around age 7, while living in Idaho, my mom would give us rides on 3-wheelers around our house. We loved it. Well until this happened...I went to get on and I grabbed the handle bar (which is also the gas) and turned it on accident...well the 3 wheeler did a wheelie and sucked me under the back two wheels. My stomach and legs were ran over. It took my mom a good 20 feet to get it stopped. She ran over to me and took me into the house. I had tire marks on my stomach but seemed to be fine. I spent the rest of the day eating ice cream and watching my favorite movie, "The Parent Trap." I am amazed it didn't cause damage to my stomach...we were truly blessed that day! And needless to say...my mom felt SO bad that she ran me over!
4. I have 5 brothers, NO sisters. Which wasn't fair! To my moms credit she tried for years after my last brother to give me a sister...but it just wasn't going to happen. I remember feeling so sad that I didn't have sisters...I hated it! My brothers were nice to me for the most part...but I just wanted sisters! I now have some great sister-in-laws and fabulous friends who are like sisters! I am so grateful for my friends in school days who were such good friends to me...Brittney, Lucy and Jordan. I couldn't even tell you how many sleepovers we had....I had to get away from those boys!
5. I love Cruising...I love the Caribbean/Bahamas, Hot Sun, Warm Beaches, Yummy Food, Great Entertainment and Sun Tanning by the pool! Eric and I have taken 2 cruises to the Western Caribbean in 2004 and one in the Bahamas in 2008. I am ready to go again...just need the time and money...maybe soon! We shall see....
6. My favorite family tradition was going to Lake Powell in Southern Utah. It was the ultimate summer vacation with the family. There is nothing like spending a week on a super nice houseboat, swimming, boating, eating delicious food, and relaxing in the beautiful surrounding of Lake Powell. It is my favorite place on earth. It is SO Beautiful! I look forward to our trip every year and the kids just Love it too! Only 65 days to go...
7. Last one...this is harder than I thought....I am a scrapbook junkie...well in supplies that is...I use to buy so much of it and now it just sits in my closet! Now in the day of digital..who does paper scrapbooking anymore...digital is is cleaner, easier and faster...so now what do I do with all that paper, stickers, stamps??? I can't get myself to go through it...maybe someday! Anyone want some?
