Utah Trip so far...

I haven't even been in Utah a week yet...but we have done so much in this short amount of time..it feels like longer. A little recap of our time so far...

Friday woke up at 2:30 to drive to the Oakland Airport to catch a 6:30 am flight. The kids loved the airplane ride so much they fell asleep. I think it was the early wake up call. My mom picked us up at the airport and we stopped at my Brother Bryant's house to see their 10 day old baby, Zach. He is a cute baby. Then we dropped Eric off at his brother Mike's place so he could fix his 1984 chevy that he is selling here in Utah. I came back to my parents and unpacked and then took a well needed mini nap.

Friday Night my parents took the kids to a ward campout dinner. So Eric and I had a great night out. We met some friends at the "Smokehouse BBQ and Pizza" Restaurant. It was great to visit with our friends. Erics childhood buddy came with his family. It was so nice to meet and visit with them. Mike, Clint and Tiana came as well. We ate great food (too much) and had great conversation. It was a wonderful dinner date. We then went back to Mikes and played a game.

Saturday..Eric woke up bright and early. He was ready to get the day going. I was not! So he googled cars to look at. He thought it would be nice to test drive some Acura's So we did. We drove one Acura TL and hated the color and look. It didn't drive smooth either. But then we drove another one that was totally opposite. It was well kept up, drove nice, colors were perfect, etc...Eric wanted it! So guess what...we bought it. We had been wanted to buy a new car for awhile but was waiting for the right time. So I guess Saturday was it.

Saturday Afternoon we had a BBQ at my parents and Eric had Dustin and Krista come over an visit. It was really nice to visit with them. We were going to go boating but the weather wasn't good enough so we just relaxed for the afternoon.

Saturday Night we went to Salt Lake (I can't believe we had to drive 30 minutes to the restaurant..JK...Living in No Cali we drive at least that or longer to get to anything). We went to dinner at Mayan Restaurant. It wasn't that good. It is mexican food. I wasn't impressed but they have great entertainment. The setting is jungle, trees,etc..they have a huge rock mtn, waterfall that they divers dive off of. It is really cool. They dive at least 4 stories because we were on the top floor. It is really cool. We then watched the new Transformers movie on an Imax theatre. It was really cool. Eric LOVED it! I thought it was ok...A LOT of cars transforming and lots of action. Again it was a late fun night.

Sunday...Mike and Shawna blessed their baby, Brady. He is so stinking cute. He is a good baby too.

After thae blessing...Eric and I took the kids to Salt Lake again to see Erics friend from Sunnyside, WA Mike Garrett. His family is so cute. His wife, Laura is going to have a baby soon. She looked so cute pregnant. They were so sweet and gave us Sunday Brunch. It was so yummy.

We then headed back to Orem and then down to Spanish Fork to spend the day with Ryan and Dakota, and Mike and Shawna. It was fun. We had dinner and visited. The kids had fun seeing all the farm animals and playing on their 3 acres. Then to finish off the evening Erics buddy from WA came over and visited him. And then Michael an Jamie. It was a crazy busy day.

Monday...Eric drove 15 hours home in the new car! He hates construction. But he loved his new car and XM Radio. He made it safe and sound. I am so glad. I relaxed and then headed over to my friends house, Brittney for the day. The kids played and we just talked. It was nice to visit. We were friends from 3rd grade on...She was my best friend growing up. Monday Night we went to FHA with my Dads ward. They did a slip-n-slide down a mountain. It was long, fast and muddy. I didn't do it but the kids did. They had a great time.

Tuesday...Brooklyn and I went to the dentist. She was great but has her first small cavity. I then did shopping for Lake Powell and took a small nap. It was a low key day.

Wednesday...I took the kids to Seven peaks waterpark with Brittney and her boys. It was so much fun. The kids loved it. It was really warm and sunny. We went down water slides, played in the kids pools, lazy river, wave pool, ate food, etc..it was nice. I then did some food prep for lake powell and packing for our next adventure...Boise, ID.

So that is our trip so far...Like I said...it has been very busy but fun. I leave for Boise tomorrow and come back and leave for Lake Powell!

Time flies when you are having fun!

PS I will add photos soon..once I get some from Mike's Camera.

Painting Fun!

So I must confess something...I don't like doing messy crafts with the kids...painting, playdough, glitter, etc... I don't like the cleanup... so frankly we never do them.
.
On Tuesday I was talking to my sister-in-law, Dakota and she gave me a great idea to encourage the kids to do chores and to listen. Part of the fun is to decorate a box first....So I finally gave in and we painted. Brooklyn and Easton loved it. I felt bad that I don't do things like that more often. Easton even said at the end..."I am officially a painter." Brooklyn said when she grows up she "wants to be a teacher and a painter..two things!" They had a great time...and only one mishap...spilled paint on the driveway (on the way to the garbabge can..so close to being done without a mishap). We cleaned it up before Daddy could see!
Easton liked to mix all the colors and make a beautiful brown!
Brooklyn is a little more advanced from painting in school.
She tried to keep her colors separate until the end.
And then there was mine..yes I even painted with them. I know it is amazing. I am turning a new leaf. I made mine simple. Brooklyn loved the rainbow colors.
Brooklyn before we started. She was so excited.Easton before...but do you notice he already spilled the water on his plate.
He is our little spiller..he spills every night at the table...we just except it now.
OUR FINISHED PRODUCT!
Eastons is totally brown.
Mine is colorful and I know now that I am not talented at painted flowers.
Brooklyn's is colorful and cute!

We had a great time painting...

next time we might just adventure over to Playdough...Do I dare???

4th of July Weekend!

We had a fun filled 4th of July Weekend!

Friday started off with a fun day on Lake Berryessa...BOATING! We went with our friends, The Nances. It was so much fun. We spent the whole day 9:30am-6:30pm swimming, tubing, wakeboarding, eating, suntanning (ok that was me), collecting shells (Brooklyn), Kneeboarding (Easton tried it with Daddy..He was on Erics back holding onto his lifejacket)... We had sooo much fun! That night we went to the Nances and watched the movie "The Passengers."

Saturday we headed to our friends house (The Allreds) for a pancake breakfast. They invited the ward and we had a great time. It was so delicious and a great way to start the holiday day off!

We then headed home to get ready for our pool/BBQ Party that we were hosting at our house. It was the first party at our house...so much pressure! We had a great time with 3 families. All with little kids. The kids had a great time in the pool and on the trampoline. The weather was nice and hot. We had a great time relaxing and talking. Meghann made a really cute flag cake and I made homemade strawberry ice cream for the first time...so good!!! We had Kabobs, fruit, chips, beans, macaroni salad. It was a yummy BBQ! It was a great afternoon!

Then we headed to Calistoga for the Napa County Fair. The kids spent some time on the rides and then we found some great seats to watch the fireworks. The fireworks were great! They were set to music and lasted a long time. We enjoyed them!

It was a great two days! LOTS of FUN!!!!!!! Happy 4th to all of you! I hope you had a fun holiday weekend!

Sorry I can't find my little camera...so no picture of boating or fireworks. I wish I had some...I am sad!

1st Time using the pool!

We finally did it! We got the pool running. We weren't sure it was worth the money to get it going...but we decided to give it a try. (Ask me next month if it was worth it $$$$). The kids were SOOO excited to jump in for the first time. It is a shallow 3 foot pool 12x26 feet. Perfect for kids...a little shallow for adults. But I enjoy laying on my tube...relaxing!

Doesn't it look nice and blue???? Last Monday it was lime green...no kidding. It looked like green slime. It is amazing what a bunch of chemical/chlorine will do!
Anyone want to come over and swim?

I have an AL Bundy!

EASTON....I caught him sleeping on the couch like this...no shirt and his hand...What a boy! He is obsessed with his boy part...I just don't get it. I guess Boys will be Boys!

Brooklyns Kindergarten Celebration

I have to do a little catch up...our computer was out of service for while so I couldn't download photos....Now I have a month to catch up on...
Brooklyn had her Kindergarten Celebration. They sang and played the flute. It was so cute. She loved Kindergarten...especially her friends, "free choice", recess, and Mrs. Bazzano (the best kindergarten teacher ever...very strict with the kids but so fun)! Brooklyn learned so much! They ask a lot of these little kids now days...She had to memorize and recite by memory 4-7 poems per month in front of the class. Brooklyn did it 100% all months. I was so proud of her. It was a lot of work...but she did it. (Mainly because they got a prize at the end of each month if they did it...What kids will do for a toy) And I must say...I was very glad when they were all done! I volunteered once a week in the classroom and I enjoyed getting to know all the kids. Brooklyn made some great friends. I made some great friends too (The Moms of course).

Brooklyn got the award "Budding Director Award." She likes to take charge and play teacher, house, etc...She loves to play pretend!

Brooklyn and Mrs. Bazzano! She is such a cute teacher!

Brooklyn and Jessica...Best Friends!
Funny Kids..Poor Easton always gets stuck around the girls.
Here comes 1st grade...I can't believe it!
Easton starts preschool in the fall...can't wait!!!!
